As someone living In Iceland, I was 15 year old that day, I first heard about the attacks on the radio, it was around 12:50 (local time in Iceland) , my dad has left our home to pick up my mom, while I came home and the radio was turned on, usually at that time it wasn't uncommon that radio plays followed the 12'O clock news in those days. I was little bit annoyed by the radio play that was being boardcasted wasn't a comedy. So I was about to turn of the radio when my parents came home and they reallized that what I was listening to wasn't a radio play but something that was actually happening. Thus we decided to turn on the TV. First came annoncement that extra news boardcast was going to start soon. then came the intro and then came Bogi Augustson RUV (icelandic equel to BBC) news reporter informed us that USA was under an attack, and confrimed that WTC had been hit by two airplanes. Then came the live footage form New York, as we sat in our living room we were just stunned by what we shaw unfolding on TV that day. This is one of those moments you remeber were you where when intal news broke.

As America confronts these tragic circumstances, it is imperative that the situation is not compounded by expressions of religious or ethnic intolerance. The greatness of our nation rests on the exceptional diversity of religions, nationalities, and ethnic backgrounds which characterize its people.
