Just a little girl

When 9/11 happened, I was 5 years old. I was in my kindergarten class when they announced that they were letting us out of school early. I didn't understand why until I got home and saw the news reports on tv. My mom had come home early from working at the post office and my papa had the day off. We were just sitting around the tv, praying and watching. I was young at the time but as tears went on I began to understand and my heart broke for all the families. I now am 20 and dating a firefighter/paramedic so when 9/11 came around this past year, I was able to put myself in the mindset of those people because I imagined if it happened now I would feel the same. Never forget 9/11 and God bless America
As America confronts these tragic circumstances, it is imperative that the situation is not compounded by expressions of religious or ethnic intolerance. The greatness of our nation rests on the exceptional diversity of religions, nationalities, and ethnic backgrounds which characterize its people.
