30 years in northern ireland over 3,000 people lost their lives and in 1 day in americas history they lost over the same amount. This is how much it sank into me. The day it happened i was in school in belfast playing indoor football happened and the peace process was under a lot of pressure because of the holy cross dispute,this was when loyalists wouldnt let young catholic girls go to there school and i can remeber two hours before that they had thrown a hand grenade at the girls going to school injuring 3 british soldiers. this was what most people where talking about.

But then at 3 o clock i seen my caretaker call my P.E. teacher over into his room and he came out and he said to me theres been a plane crash in america and i was thinking thats the least of my worries the peace process is ready to collapses here, but then there was a lot of rumors going about the school that terrorists had flown two planes into the towers but i never believed it because its one of them things u wouldnt belive couldnt happen if you seen it happen in a film. then i was going home on my school bus and a catholic and killed a protestant teenager so the area was tense but i can remember walking home from getting off the bus and it was like i was the only person alive the world like had stopped, no road blocks, no rioting, just silence, i walked into the house and my sister run out into the hall way and see this but i thought she was on about the granade attack on the kids at holy cross and then i looked at the tv and seen this plane flying into one of the towers and i was like in shock. I sat in desbelief as the news became come through it was like, i couldn’t explain the feeing i got but it wasnt nice,i felt sort of sick and this wasnt attack on america it was an attack on the world and freedom. The one good thing that came out of it for the respect of the victims of america the loyalists decided to call off there protest against the catholics girls going to school. The worst part for me now when i look at it, is when i see the people jumping from the buildings i was like this isn’t terrorism this is loonesy.
