I was at work when the planes crashed into the World Trade Center. I had overheard a co-worker talking on the phone to someone and he just kept saying, “No way!!” to the person on the other end. When he got off the phone he told us a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center and no one knew if it was an accident or if we were being attacked. A few minutes later when he told us the second tower had been hit we all knew something evil was happening. Everyone was standing in a circle staring at each other when we were told the Pentagon had been hit. It was unbelievable. All I could wonder was what was going to happen next. We didn’t have a TV in our office so we all crowded into the restaurant next door and watched the events unfold. It was shocking to see people across the world laughing and dancing in the streets when all we could do was cry. It’ll be hard to get back to normal again, but seeing how people everywhere around the world were sympathizing and willing to help definitely restores my hope in humanity.
