September 11, 2001 will be a day this country never forgets including me! I was only 5 years old at the time. I remember the day like it was yesterday. I was in my room watching Mr. Rogers Neighborhood when the news interrupted my program to bring the breaking news. As a 5 year old at the time I did not understand what was going on. My Mother worked in Washington DC during the attacks. Minutes away from the pentagon. She came home early that day. Year after year I would learn more and more of what happened that clear Tuesday morning. I’ve seen story after story in great detail. I’ve heard the 911 calls from the towers and the air traffic controllers trying to make contact with planes that turned into missiles. This September 10th I will be going to Ground Zero for the first time in my life. It’s going to bring chills and goosebumps knowing that where I’m standing thousands of people lost their lives to terrorists. I want to thank the brave Fire fighters, Police officers, first responders and civilians for putting their life on the line for their fellow Americans. You are Heroes and I applaud you. September 11, 2001 will be a day this country NEVER forgets. God bless America!
