Lived in NY on 9.11.01?: Yes
Knew someone who perished?: No

I was at home, 3 years old. My mother took my brother to school, and I went with them. At Penny Beach, (In Staten Island, NY) I remember looking out the car window, and seeing the Twin Towers on the morning of 9/11. After we had put my brother into school, we drove back home. I remember laying in my crib, watching the news. A special broadcast came on, with one of the Twin Towers on fire. We then went to Penny Beach, and suddenly both of the towers were on fire. At that time, Penny Beach was crowded with people everywhere. We then went to pick up my brother from school for safety. When we drove by Penny Beach, we see the tower collapsing. I remember my mother saying “I’ve seen enough.”, and I had no clue what was going on, I thought it was just a fire. We then went to pick my father up from work. My father had gotten a bird’s eye view of everything. I am currently 14 years old now, and I fully understand what had happened that day, and my prayers go out to everyone that perished on 9/11.
