I reported to work at The Boeing Company in Seattle, WA at 5:30 am that morning. A few minutes before 6 am a co-worker called me and started to relate what was happening. She said there was an accident at the WTC. After talking for a few minutes, we hung up and I tried to get information by radio and over the internet. My co-worker called again about another plane. This co-worker called back many, many times until it was time for her to leave to come to work. Everyone tried to get as much information as possible. A few hours passed and the situation began to impact everyone. We were all stunned.
My youngest son joined the US Army enrolled in the Ranger program and reported to Ft. Benning, GA on May 25th, 2001. His scheduled graduation date would be Sept 21, 2001. When the attack happened he (my son) was in his last week of Basic Training out in a field training exercise. When I realized the magnitude of the attacks I knew my son would go to a very bad place to fight a war. He has gone to war and returned. I will never forget the day. I had to leave work because it was so devastating. The horror, tragedy, grief. God Bless America and Let there be peace on earth.
