At my school (I’m sure others do this as well) we were on a rotating schedule which means everyday, we don’t go to one of our seven classes. That day, it was my second hour class – marine science. So that day, I went from my governement class straight to my third hour enviornmental science class, which is where I was when the planes crashed. Being stuck in class, I didn’t hear about it at the time, but when we changed classes, I heard some kid say to his friend “Did you see? We’re at war.” Not having much respect for my fellow classmates educations, I brushed it off as some kid being stupid, but something about it peaked my curiosity. I knew that in my next class, home ec, the teacher usually had the t.v. on for a few minutes, so I raced there as fast as I could. Sure enough, the t.v. was on and the image will be burned into my mind forever – the split screen of the WTC burning on one side and the Pentagon on the other. I stood there in disbelief saying “Oh my God” over and over.
