I remember nearly every detail of that day, even from before I learned about the attacks.
I first learned about it during my art class. I was a 15 year-old freshman in high school. It was about 9:20 AM (EST) or so, and noticed my teacher walked in. I didn’t even notice she left because I was working on sketching my New Balance shoe. She turned on the TV, and I saw the World Trade Center up in flames. Being somewhat of a skyscraper fanatic, I knew instantly that it was the World Trade Center, but thought it was a movie trailer for the next Die Hard film. However, as time passed I quickly realized that this was real.
