I got up like normally to go to work to the Postal Office Encoding Center located at that time on Central Ave, Kearny (the industrial area). I took my son who at that time was only 2 years old to the babysitter and went to work.. It was a beautiful day, open skies, nice temperature.. We worked in cubicles and they let us used radio as long as we used earphones. That day I work at 8 am.. so I was working when a while later I was listening to a Spanish station when the guy on the radio, says with like joking, “oh, they just told us that a flying small plain collided against the Twin Tower”.. but laughing .. He didn’t even believe it.. No even a second later the guy starts screaming in the radio.. so I changed the station and on the other station was saying the same thing. Where we worked , we could see directly across to the Twin Towers since they were very tall. We were between 150 to 200 employees on that shift.. We all run out and I couldn’t believe what my eyes were looking at.. I saw first one and then the other one and then I saw when they disappear.. I couldn’t believe. It was a blue sky.. with the sun right up.. We were in tears.. and then there was a black cloud that surrounded the area.. and We couldn’t see anything else.. After that, I don’t remember much.. but I know that I call to see how my son was doing, even though that we didn’t live in NY..
