I remember I was getting up at 4AM that morning (California time) because I had to go to the pistol range on board Camp Pendleton, Ca. I was standing around waiting for my relay’s turn to shoot when I saw other Marines running towards they’re cars to listen to the radio. I asked what was going on and a friend of mine happened to have a portable TV with him (random I know.) and that’s when I found out. My uncle Jon was NYPD and died saving lives in tower 2. RIP.
