The alarm woke me up and I snuggled up to my fiance, now husband. The DJ’s on the radio said that a plane had hit the WTC. We thought nothing of it at first. Then we heard about the 2nd tower getting hit. This is when we got up and turned on the news. It was unbelieveable! I took my shower, this is when the pentagon was hit. I don’t think it really hit me, even at that point. We watched tv and cried for days after this. But the most important and memorable moment for me happened the day after. The radio station was collecting money for the victims at a local supermarket. I drove by before dropping my kids off at school. My son and I got out to put in our donation, and the live broadcast started to play the national anthym. The ENTIRE parking lot full of people just STOPPED and FROZE. It was the most beautiful touching thing to see people stop and truly understand our freedom. God Bless everyone who has been affected by this horrific tragedy.
