I’m from the midwest. I always set my alarm for 745 am. So it was nearly at the exact time when plane 1 hit. I couldn’t believe what the dj was saying. I wanted to stay home and watch it but I couldn’t. The radio was our eyes and ears of the updates all day. I cried, when they mentioned a second plane hit. I cried when the towers went down. My girlfriend’s job is just buildings away. How, why and if….the employees of the building listened to the radio all day too (where I work). The chaos was incredible. the other incidents also were incomprehensible. My mom called us at 1pm, to tell us that Donna was OK. But she experienced a lot of smoke inhalation enroute to work and when going back home to Brooklyn. Mom and I went to church on that Friday. with other members to pray silently and then go out front, with lighted candles and sing GOD BLESS AMERICA. In church that Sunday our organist was playing patriotic songs. It was heartwrenching, to say the least. But it brought alot of people together, in a way. To those who don’t believe in God, I hope you do now. GBA.
