On september 11 2001, i was only in 2nd grade but i remember it like it was yesterday. When i first saw what had heppend i had just gotten to my grandmas house and i was sitting in the the chair infront of the tv eating my breakfast. When i got to school we were watching it and we had just started class when the first tower fell. We could hear some teachers scream. we didnt start class until about an hr later because we were glued to the TV. When the second tower fell, i dont think that the school has ever been as quiet as that moment and after the silence some people began to cry. When i got home that night i remember my dad coming home from work and calling my aunt who lives in New York and had been going to the WTC for many things for her job. He called her many times worried that she had been in the WTC. Finally that next day we had gotten ahold of her. Today in our town we had our annual Havest Havoc and we had a Demo Derby. We had 1 heat called the Remember Heat and we had 9 cars all painted red white and blue and it was the first heat and we had some members of our town Fire Department and EMS stand next to the track in uniform. It was very touching to know that we still remember that tragic day…May God bless the men and women that died and that are still missing…and watch over their families…REMEMBER 9/11…
